Course Description
The quest for dominance in our global economy and how organizations posture themselves to respond to this challenge will make or break their success. examines the cultural, environmental, and emotional aspects of Assertivesness and Persuasion and provides tips and tools to do both in today`s global economy. The participants will gain knowledge from internet and current case studies and will take part in weekly discussion threads and case study based outputs. Readings will be based on internet links and e-mail contained articles and as such no textbooks are required for this coursework.

Outcome
Each participant will participate in weekly discussion threads and review, analyze and apply knowledge gained to three case studies. The direct application of lessons learned will provide a foundation for prescriptive solutions. Particpation in weekly discussion threads, introduction to case study analysis and prescriptive applications along with the final case study analysis and prescription paper (8 - 10 pages)will provide the final outcome evaluation.

Assessment
Participants will be assessed based on contributions and weekly participation in discussion threads, three case application papers (4 - 6 pages each), and a final prescriptive case paper (8 - 10 pages).

Internet site and posted readings on current global environment and analysis tools. Participation in Week #1 discussion threads. Introduction to and first paper on case study #1.

Week 2

Internet site and posted readings on communication and the persuasion process. Participation in Week #2 discussion threads. Introduction to case study #1. Complete case study #1 analysis and prescription paper.

Week 3

Internet site and posted readings on assertiveness applications and controls around the persuasion process. Participation in Week #3 discussion threads. Introduction to case study #2. Complete case study #2 analysis and prescription paper.

Week 4

Internet site and posted readings on assertiveness and persuasion in management techniques and tools. Participation in Week #4 discussion threads. Introduction to case study #3. Complete case study #3 analysis and prescription paper.

Week 5


Internet site and posted readings on the assertiveness and persuasion equation and checklist of common errors. Participation in Week #5 discussion threads. Introduction to final case study. Complete final case study analysis and prescription paper (8 - 10 pages).
