Course Description
PIN code provided for this course allows unlimited on-line access for 90 days. The course is designed to show students how to use the tools of Microsoft Outlook 2002, such as the journal, tasks, notes, reminders, the Calendar, and the Rules Wizard to plan their time. However, tips on how to use other time management tools, such as paper-based products, hand-held devices, and other applications will be included. The scope of the course includes understanding time management theory/philosophy, keeping a time log/diary, handling stress, developing a system of organization, identifying priorities, setting and achieving goals, creative problem solving, scheduling/managing a small project, and timing teamwork. While this course focuses on teaching time management techniques to help people at work, it does not exclude way to manage one`s time outside work. One of the exciting aspects of this course is that it combines the best of the old and new theories of research of time management. Students will be encouraged to understand their time management challenges and adapt the suggestions to fit their management style/needs.

Outcome
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Keep a time log/diary
  • Handle stress
  • Identify priorities
  • Solve problems creatively

Assessment
Student performance is assessed by cumulative training time, number of lessons completed and, where tests are available, the percent correct. Many courses also have a pre- and post-test where the pre-test will automatically assign only the lessons needed to achieve course mastery.
